Jebson Tembo
Red Cap in Zambia
For 21 years Jebson was the village headman of Chulu village in Nsefu chiefdom, in the South Luangwa valley. After the death of his father he moved to this village at the age of 10 years. By that time he had to quit school and help his mother on the field. Since then he has been a passionate farmer and now is father of eight children. In 2007 Jebson took part in a chilli farmers training and got to know Billy Banda.
As Jebson has the great wish to support his community and contribute to human/elephant conflicts resolution methods, he joined the Awely Red Caps team in March 2009. To be able to fullfill this task he even gave up his position as village headman, which is now continued by his brother.
