EDUCATION
Education is one of the modules in our two models. Although we never consider it to be a priority, education is nonetheless crucial. While our primary work is to establish a relationship of confidence with our target groups that is based on a tangible contribution to their development, we do produce many pedagogical tools oriented towards groups we aim to work with.
Posters, maps, diagrams, booklets and other supports are created in the languages or dialects spoken by these target groups, and our crews use them in workshops with the general public or school audiences. For example, for our DRC programs we have created a 36-pages booklet. It presents bonobos, biodiversity, forest ecosystems and their role in climate regulation, and describes sustainable development through various microprojects which may be adapted to their own region. Written in both French and Lingala, it is also accessible to an illiterate audience given its numerous illustrations.
In Zambia, we have made an illustrated booklet on human-wildlife conflicts to help schoolteachers dealing with this topic and accompanied by a pamphlet which is then widely distributed among the students.
