THE GREEN CAPS IN NEPAL


Precise location: Suklaphanta Wildlife Reserve, parts of northern and southern buffer zones, five village development committees

Covered Area: 150 km2

Species involved: tiger (Panthera tigris)

Partner organisation: NTNC

Target groups: Rural village groups using forest resources, grass and firewood collectors, livestock keepers, and women’s groups.

Overall objectives:
•Reduce human pressure on forest and grasslands in the Shuklaphanta Wildlife Reserve
•Develop strategies as alternatives to using natural resources.
•Create an understanding of the importance of protecting forest resources.
