Christian Pilard

Enthralled since childhood by the animal world, now constantly in touch with earth matters through media and travels, Christian graduated in international business, dividing his time between France and Hong Kong, where he is the head of Museum Concept, a company specializing in the distribution of vintage goods throughout Asia.

He also founded 15 years ago Eco-Sys Action Foundation, to assist other organisations involved with local communities in areas of high biodiversity. Repeated visits to selected projects in Asia and Africa convinced him that there could be no environmental protection without economic, health, and educational benefits for the local populations. It is in this regard that he considers Awely to be a driving force within modern international conservation movement, and he appreciates awely’s blend of simplicity and efficiency so unusual in the world of associations today. Looking back at the fantastic economical development of China in the past 25 years, another aspect of his foundation is to make Chinese people more aware of the urgent need to protect their endangered species, believing China might become earlier than expected a world leader in environmental conservation. As a global citizen refusing to just take the world as it is, Christian is willing to demonstrate that every living creature counts, ultimately aiming his message to form the positive actions of future generations. The children of the world represent the only hope for the future, and so Christian has created Boopy, an eco-detective sparrow, to represent a mascot, as a symbol of force, confidence and peace for children everywhere across the planet.
